Speech and Language Therapist
Manchester, Greater Manchester (with hybrid working - two days per week in the office)

Our client is a charity supporting the needs of people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender.

They are now looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join their support service on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week. This will require working evenings, weekends and some longer days.

The Role

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will help trans and gender-diverse people explore how best to support and facilitate the development of an authentic voice through our client’s speech and language therapy service.

In this key role, you will assess, treat and manage a caseload of people and collaborate with others to deliver a community-based, user-focused service. This will include undertaking pre-referrals, referrals and triaging, completing assessments, taking part in interventions and discharging patients.

Additionally, you will:

- Provide advice and training to colleagues

- Promote the service externally

- Review and update resources

- Identify and address complex cases

- Collate data and produce reports

- Design therapy activities

- Maintain comprehensive service user records

About You

To be considered as a Speech and Language Therapist, you will need:

- To be a qualified speech and language therapist
- A current HCPC registration
- A current RCSLT registration
- Experience of delivering voice and/or trans voice and communication care
- Experience of providing professional training to clients, carers and members of a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience of service development, evaluation and improvement
- Experience of working with service users to improve service delivery
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Please note, you will be routinely required to work evenings, weekends and some longer days.
