Speech and Language Therapist

We are looking for an exceptional, dynamic & innovative Speech and Language Therapist Band 7 to contribute to an effective service to meet the needs of our Client.

Job Purpose

Our Client provide adults with disabilities day opportunities and activities that promote the ethos of lifelong learning and the importance of wellbeing in adult life. Our Client is a busy, vibrant and varied environment that supports disabled adults with cerebral palsy, communication and sensory impairments and complex learning needs including those with Autism Spectrum Conditions.

The Speech and Language Therapist responsibilities will be:

  • To demonstrate highly specialist clinical expertise in the assessment and management of speech, language and communication problems in service users with complex needs, including physical difficulties, complex communication difficulties, complex ASC, sensory issues, learning difficulties and mental health problems.
  • To contribute autonomously to the initial assessment and formulation of speech, language and communication needs and input to decisions around therapy allocations.
  • To continue to develop highly specialist knowledge and skills in assessing and managing service users with complex communication difficulties and dysphagia, seeking advice where needed from external agencies and advisors.
  • To apply highly specialist knowledge to inform sound clinical decision making for case management based on evidence based practice and outcome measures.
  • To demonstrate the ability to reflect on practice, both individually and with peers, identifying strengths and needs and providing evidence of sound clinical judgements based on research and evidence based practice.
  • To produce detailed, comprehensive and high quality reports for a range of professionals and carers relating to service user needs, current progress and future management, in line with PHF guidelines and expectations.
  • To prepare clear therapy plans which relate to Individuals, Health and Care Plans and identify functional targets which will meet documented outcomes.

To work as a Speech and Language Therapist you will need the following:

  • Must have the Eligibility to Work in the UK
  • Qualified SLT status
  • HCPC Registered
  • Post Education competencies completed.
  • Clinical Supervisory Skills course completed
  • An up to date CPD portfolio

The successful Speech and Language Therapist will benefit from:
