Area to be covered: North West, North wales and Yorkshire (Not South Yorkshire)

Remuneration: £42,000-£44,000 Neg. + up to 40% Bonus

The role of the Specification Sales Manager - Social Housing & Local Authorities will involve:

  • Field sales role selling a manufactured range of functional and practical adapted bathrooms for the elderly and less-abled
  • 70% specification field sales led position gaining specifications with local authorities, housing associations and disabled facilities grants DFG’s via HIA’s (home improvement agencies)
  • Selling through main contractors who work of local authorities, and specialist adapted bathroom sub contractors
  • Protecting specifications and breaking other adapted bathroom manufacturers specifications wherever possible through offering an attractive commercial alternative solution
  • You will inherit a project bank, as well as relationships with approx. 300+ accounts, which will be a mixture of local boroughs and main contractors/ specialist adapted bathroom sub contractors (circa 150+ of which are actively spending)
  • 30% of your time managing relationships within bathroom adaptation distributors (our client is looking to reduce sales through distribution and focus on selling direct)
  • Inheriting an established area, currently 97% of budget and turning over £1.35m
  • 70% account management role, 30% new business development
  • Mix of public sector and private sector end users including; occupational therapists, residential homes, nursing homes, care homes etc but can be anyone with an adapted bathroom need

The ideal applicant will be a Specification Sales Manager - Social Housing & Local Authorities with:

  • Must have specification field sales experience within either; local authorities, housing associations, social housing, HIA’s home improvement agencies or DFG’s disability facility grants
  • Ideally with main contractor or specialist adapted bathroom sub-contractor field sales route to market experience
  • Healthcare product knowledge is not required, as all construction product backgrounds will be considered
  • Sales hunter mentality
  • Open to kitchen, bedroom, bathroom related backgrounds as well as showers, boilers, fans and other building materials related field sales backgrounds
  • Consultative sales approach
  • Strong work ethic and integrity
  • Stable career history and positive can do approach
  • Entrepreneurial attitude prepared to take ownership
  • Track record of field sales achievement somewhere on CV
