Claims Adjuster (Specialty Lines)

Job Spec

We are looking for a Claims Adjuster to manage Professional Liability, Financial Liability and Cyber claims from cradle to grave. This position works on a hybrid basis (2 days per week in London office) and reports to the Claims Manager directly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine extent of exposure to insured and company
  • Directly and closely monitor assignments to experts and defense counsel
  • Provide outstanding customer service and build longstanding relationships with insureds, brokers, and partners
  • Communicate coverage positions to insureds
  • Set and monitor reserves within authority
  • Report to reinsurers and other insurance partners
  • Support business leaders on an as-needed basis on claims and underwriting related issues
  • Attendance at mediations and trials, as necessary
Skills, Experience and Education
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as claims adjuster in London market
  • Specific experience in handling financial lines and cyber claims
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and systems, including ECF
  • Strong relational skills, particularly in adverse or high-pressure situations
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience of working with Lloyd's/Lloyd's certifications a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills; ability to deal with customers and business partners in professional manner
  • Ability to make prompt, intelligent decisions based on detailed analysis of complex issues
