Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

We are currently seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our unit in Chesterfield on a full-time basis. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to children facing barriers to learning, helping them to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, including those at risk of permanent exclusions.
  • Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supporting students during classroom activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, and caregivers to foster a sense of trust and community.

Requirements:

  • Valid driving license and access to your own transport.
  • Previous experience working in a similar setting, preferably with children at risk of exclusion.
  • A passion for supporting children with special educational needs and a commitment to their welfare.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • A TA qualification is not essential for this role; we value experience and a proactive attitude above all else.
