Job Title: Specialist Registrar in Gastroenterology
Trust: Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Trust
Location: Will be disclosed upon connection
Dates: 18/03/24 - 31/05/24
Rota:
- Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00 (5 shifts per week)
- Full-time position, 10 Programmed Activity basis (9 DCC PAs and 1 SPA PA)

About the Role: We are recruiting a Specialist Registrar in Gastroenterology to join the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will provide care to inpatients in the Gastroenterology ward, perform common medical procedures including diagnostic and therapeutic ascitic drainage, and participate in specialty consultations. Previous gastroenterology experience at CT or ST level is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provision of care to inpatients in the Gastroenterology ward, which includes a mix of gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine (GIM) patients.
- Perform commonly performed procedures in medicine, including diagnostic and therapeutic ascitic drainage.
- Participate in specialty consultations and referral of patients to other specialties as appropriate.
- Participate in outpatient clinical work under supervision.
- Opportunities for endoscopy training could be discussed with the clinical supervisor.
- Active involvement in multidisciplinary teams, relevant administration duties, teaching, supervision of junior medical staff, and clinical governance activities.
Requirements:
- Full GMC registration and eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register for Gastroenterology.
- Previous experience in gastroenterology at CT or ST level is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and deliver high-quality patient care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
