Do you have a passion for supporting autistic students with their academic work? Would you like to work in a role which is flexible and can fit around your schedule? If yes, Randstad Student support has an ideal role for you!

As a study skills tutor you will be supporting students within the Birmingham area who have learning difficulties.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one support with students you have been assigned to based on their specific learning difficulties
  • Assist students with organisational skills such as, time management, creating action plans to work towards deadlines
  • Help with their research skills by assisting them to access ranges of resources
  • Provide help with writing skills, how to structure their work
  • Encourage students to build on existing strengths so they are able to develop on their independence
  • Behave in a confidential and professional manner at all time with students
  • Work closely with Randstad and ensure any concerns regarding students are communicated immediately

Requirements:

Holds a degree

AND

Teaching Certificate / Qualification

AND

Six National Autistic Society (NAS) online training modules

  • Understanding autism
  • Autism and communication

  • Autism, stress and anxiety
  • Autism: supporting families
  • Autism and Girls

  • Organisational skills - to be able to manage your workload of multiple students to support
  • Be reliable and punctual
  • Accurate spelling and grammar skills
  • Understandable and patient when working with students
  • Have an understanding on how to use platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc
  • Be empathetic and adaptive
