SEN Class Teacher - Secondary/Post 16 - SEN - ASD - Autism - Tadworth

The School:

The school is based in Tadworth, Surrey and provides support for primary and secondary aged pupils who have a wide range of complex needs associated with Autism. All students that attend the school have a designated Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) which details their specific needs in terms of the care and support they will have access to.

The school is set on idyllic grounds and provides a king and caring curriculum for its pupils. The curriculum focusses on developing key aspects of each child such as independency skills, social skills and communication as well as physical and creative development. Due to the schools location and outstanding facilities, they are able to offer activities such as swimming and horse riding. The school is also equipped with a large sensory room and soft play area.

The school is graded as 'outstanding' by Ofsted with pupil progress and achievement 'outstanding' across the school. You will be joining a school environment that is made up of happy students and staff.

***SEN Class teacher - full time and part time (3 days per week) are both available

***Specialist school for students with Autism and associated learning and behavioural needs

***Classes range from 6-8 in size with a focus on implementing effective communication techniques

***Sensory rooms, soft play and therapy rooms to provide designated areas for specialist support from a range of therapists including SALTs, Occupational therapists, psychologists and counsellors

***An Integrated Therapeutic Approach and extensive 1-1 support for every pupil

***Specialist communication methods such as Makaton, PECS and TEACCH

***A balanced, creative curriculum that focuses on preparation for 'life after school'

***The school likes to focus on LSAs who know their objectives and who would like to continue their journey to become specialists in their chosen field

***A psychology degree or specialist SEN training is highly desirable

***September 24 starts or sooner depending on your availability - £30,000 - £46,525

***Due to the location of the school, you MUST have a full UK driver's license and access to a car
