Solution Architect - 6 Month Contract - £600-£800/day - Outside IR35 - Hybrid

Please note - this role requires a maximum 1 day a week in the London office, and their Developers are based in Madrid so a maximum of one trip of 3 days/2 nights in Madrid per month.

I am currently supporting a key client looking for a Product Architect who will focus on creating an architectural strategy for the platform that delivers some of their flagship English teaching products. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of their product delivery and ensuring scalability and efficiency in their technology approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architectural Strategy Development: Craft and implement a comprehensive architectural strategy for their product delivery platform, ensuring it aligns with their long-term business objectives and technological advancements.
  • Solution Architecture and Micro-service Design: Utilize expertise in solution architecture and micro-service design to enhance and optimize the platform.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with the Product Owner, Director of Technology, third-party suppliers, and Business Analysts to ensure a cohesive and forward-thinking architectural approach.
  • Innovative Problem Solving: Continuously identify opportunities for innovation within the platform architecture, ensuring it remains robust and adaptable to changing needs.
  • Travel and Engagement: Be willing to travel as required for collaboration, research, and implementation purposes. Demonstrate high levels of motivation and commitment to the success of the project.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Business Analyst and Product Owner to understand architectural and business constraints and opportunities.
  • Facilitate discussions between technical and non-technical stakeholders to foster a shared understanding.

Current State Analysis

  • Understand and document the as-is architecture clearly whilst identifying areas of complexity, inefficiency, and misalignment with business objectives.
  • Translate technical information into accessible language for non-technical stakeholders.

Future State & Strategy Development

  • Define the future state of the product architecture that aligns with business objectives.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the product strategy to achieve the desired future state.
  • Input into the roadmap and backlog to ensure alignment between strategy, architecture, and business objectives.

Agile and Lean Practice

  • Understand and leverage agile and lean practices when designing out a new architecture.

Communication

  • Maintain clear communication channels between all stakeholders regarding product architecture, functionality and strategy.
  • Prepare and present findings, solutions, and updates to stakeholders in a clear and straightforward manner.

Key Relationships:

  • Product Owner: Ensure that the architectural strategy supports the product vision and user requirements.
  • Director of Technology: Collaborate on technical strategies and uphold best practices in technology development.
  • Third-Party Supplier: Liaise with external developers for the effective implementation of architectural plans.
  • Business Analyst: Partner in converting business needs into technical specifications and actionable architectural plans.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in product architecture, with a strong background in solution architecture and micro-service design.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement architectural strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • High motivation and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Willingness to travel as part of the role.
