Solicitor / CILEx Lawyer - Dispute Resolution (Consumer Credit)

TSR Legal are excited to collaborate with a prestigious Legal 500 law firm located on the outskirts of North Cardiff, currently in search of a Solicitor / CILEx Lawyer to join their Consumer Credit Disputes Resolution team. Known for their commitment to professionalism, care, expertise, and integrity, this firm is expanding, leading to the need for a dynamic and qualified solicitor to join their supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of this role, you will handle a diverse range of consumer credit disputes, offering technical advice, supporting business development initiatives, and representing the firm in client meetings.

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of consumer credit disputes.
  • Support the Head of Consumer Credit Disputes Resolution in team management.
  • Provide technical advice to colleagues within the Group.
  • Represent the team and firm in client meetings for discussions on recoveries litigation.
  • Support business development activities for both individual and collective growth.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate should be a qualified solicitor with 1-3 years' PQE, although newly Qualified Solicitors / Legal Executives with substantial prior experience are also encouraged to apply. While previous exposure to Consumer Credit is desirable, it is not essential. This position could be well-suited for individuals with a background in personal injury or credit control, possessing strong litigation skills and experience handling matters from initial issue through to trial.

  • Degree educated (2:1 or above) 0-3 years of PQE (essential).
  • Previous litigation experience in a law firm, preferably in consumer credit debt recovery.
  • Experience managing high-volume caseloads amid competing priorities.
  • Experience in supervision/management of colleagues (desirable).
  • Business development and/or client relationship management experience (desirable).
  • Strong technical skills in litigation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Negotiation skills to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Strong commercial business acumen.

  • Full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week).
