We are actively recruiting for a skilled Solar PV Design Engineer on behalf of our client based in Peterlee. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed designs, conducting site assessments, and optimizing solar PV installations for maximum efficiency and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design solar PV systems for residential, and commercial projects, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate solar potential, shading analysis, and structural considerations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, electrical engineers, and installers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Utilize software tools such as Opensolar, PVsol, to create accurate solar PV layouts and simulation.
  • Perform energy modelling and financial analysis to assess the viability and ROI of solar projects.
  • Optimize system designs for efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness while considering customer requirements and preferences.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for permitting and construction purposes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in solar PV design and engineering.
  • Liaise with Suppliers, building relationships and negotiate best prices.
  • Provide client quotations and follow up.

Desirable Experience
  • Electrical Engineering: 2 years (preferred)
  • Solar sales: 2 years (preferred)
  • Solar Design: 2 years (preferred)

Salary up to £35k depending on experience.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday - Days
