Sociology Teacher - Ilford *ASAP START*

Are you an experienced Sociology Teacher looking for work in Ilford?

Remedy Education are seeking a Sociology Teacher for a secondary school in Ilford. This role is full time and will be long term with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate, you must be readily available due to the urgency to fill this position.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Curriculum Lead to ensure the curriculum is up to date and meets the needs of the students
  • Adapt lessons to suit the needs of children
  • Create a stimulating learning environment
  • Support KS4 and KS5 pupils
  • Conduct assessments and progress reports for individual pupils
  • Ensure pupils are meeting set targets
  • Produce interactive and engaging lesson plans to deliver to the leaners
  • Provide additional 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
  • Support pupils with additional GCSE and A-Level support
  • Attend parents evenings when required

The successful Sociology Teacher must:

  • Support students with the transition of the next stage of their education or training
  • Have previous experience working in a secondary school
  • Hold a degree in Sociology
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum
  • Have strong resilience and patience
  • Be a great team-player and form good relationships within the school environment
  • Good classroom and behaviour management
