We are currently seeking dedicated social workers to become valued members of our team at Essex County Council. Exciting opportunities await in the following teams:

  • Children In Care Team
  • Assessment and Intervention Team

At Essex County Council, we recognize the significance of flexibility and wellbeing for our colleagues in children's Social Care. To adapt to these needs, we have introduced a nine-day working fortnight for full-time frontline Social Workers within Children’s services.

Requirements:

  • A recognized social work qualification and current registration with Social Work England.
  • Continued professional development aligned with relevant competency frameworks.
  • Experience in navigating challenging social and family situations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse groups.
  • Building robust relationships with partners and the community to achieve common objectives.
  • Understanding the balance between cost-effective interventions and meeting needs.
  • Demonstrated ability in clear decision-making to manage potential risks associated with interventions.
