We're seeking exceptional social workers for both part-time (18.5 hours) and full-time roles.

Up to £43,646 + £2,000 annual retention payment after 2 years’ service

Purpose: Manage diverse caseloads, assessing, planning, and implementing actions to safeguard children and support families. Liaise with relevant parties and contribute to training initiatives to elevate professional standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage cases effectively to safeguard children and meet their needs.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to create positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Assist in recruiting, assessing, and supervising adoptive families and foster carers.
  • Maintain accurate records and stay updated on relevant policies and practices.
  • Attend training courses to enhance skills and competency levels.
  • Review and update children's plans as needed and represent the agency in court proceedings.

Qualifications:

  • CQSW/DipSW or equivalent, registered social worker with SWE.
  • Post Qualifying Awards 1-5.

Experience:

  • Completion of ASYE year and 3 years' experience in Adoption Team.
  • Diverse post-qualification practice in Children Social Work Teams.
  • Direct work experience with children and young people.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in computer use and report writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication.
  • Ability to work independently within guidelines and make informed decisions.
  • Competency in comprehensive assessments and risk evaluation.
  • Capable of maintaining accurate case records.

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with relevant legislation including The Children’s Act 1989, Adoption Act 1976, Adoption Regulations, and Adoption and Children Act 2002.
  • Understanding of procedures for Looked After Children, Children in Need, and Child Protection Systems.
  • Knowledge of Permanency Planning, Child Permanence Reports, and Adoption plans.
  • Understanding of family dynamics, attachment theory, and child development.
  • Knowledgeable in inter-agency working and prospective adopters' assessments
