Role Overview:
As a Social Worker in the Children in Care Team, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of children who are subject to Care Proceedings and Adoption processes. You will work collaboratively with children, families, and other professionals to ensure the safety, well-being, and permanency of children in care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and formulate care plans for children subject to Care Proceedings and Adoption processes.
  • Provide support and interventions to children and families to address identified needs and risks.
  • Work collaboratively with legal professionals, courts, and other agencies involved in Care Proceedings and Adoption processes.
  • Prepare reports and attend court hearings and meetings as required.
  • Facilitate contact between children and their families, ensuring that the child's best interests are prioritized.
  • Monitor the progress of children in care, regularly reviewing and adjusting care plans as necessary.
  • Provide support and guidance to colleagues and contribute to the development of best practice within the team.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant professional registration (HCPC).
  • Previous experience working with children and families in a statutory social work setting.
  • Experience in managing cases involving Care Proceedings and Adoption processes.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate with external agencies.
  • Commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of children and families.
