Job Title: Child Protection Social Worker

Location: Leeds City Council

Contract Type: Agency (via Ackerman Pierce)

Hourly Rate: £40 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of child protection concerns, ensuring the safety and welfare of children.
  • Develop and implement effective care plans in collaboration with families, caregivers, and external agencies.
  • Provide ongoing support and intervention to children and families at risk of harm, promoting positive outcomes.
  • Participate in child protection case conferences and meetings, advocating for the rights and best interests of children.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, adhering to data protection and confidentiality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate services and support for children and families.
  • Engage in regular supervision and training to enhance professional development and practice.
  • Uphold the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with HCPC registration.
  • Proven experience in child protection social work, preferably within a local authority setting.
  • Strong assessment, intervention, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative abilities.
  • Commitment to promoting the welfare and rights of children.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage complex cases.
