Job Title: Social Worker – Adolescent Team

Location: Cambridgeshire

Position Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary Range: £38,258 - £40,958 per annum (depending on experience)

The Team:

This team consolidates services for young people facing homelessness, mental health challenges, family breakdown, and vulnerability to exploitation, including criminal and sexual exploitation. It primarily supports young people aged 13 and above. Operating under the 'single trusted adult principle', the team assigns dedicated staff from within the service to ensure continuous care throughout various Complex Safeguarding and Child Protection processes.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Utilise professional expertise to navigate complex scenarios, making decisive judgments. Identify and address needs by emphasising strengths and formulating SMART plans to achieve clear outcomes, prioritising the child's perspective in all assessments and interventions.
  • Act as a representative of Cambridgeshire County Council, fostering collaboration with key agencies to devise effective strategies and plans. Contribute to the enhancement of integrated services and policy frameworks to elevate the quality of care for service users.
  • Remain abreast of social policy, organisational protocols, and pertinent legislation. Sustain professional registration and actively participate in continuous development initiatives to bolster a proficient workforce.
  • Adhere to professional standards and principles, maintaining precise records and advocating for the empowerment of service users.

Essential Criteria:

  • Recognised professional Social Work qualification (Degree/Masters/Post Graduate Diploma/Social Work fast track qualifying programme)
  • Relevant specialist post qualifying and or post graduate training
  • Car driver with full UK licence. Ability to work from a variety of locations and travel countywide.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of child development, parenting capacity, environmental factors and risk and protective factors.
  • Knowledge of relevant safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain high quality records, writing clear, concise, child- centred reports and plans.
  • Ability to create a rapport and build relationships with children/young people and their families using a person centred, strengths-based approach
