Social Media and Communications Consultant - Contract

£150-200 per day

A major trade union organisation is seeking a Social Media and Communications Consultant to join them on an initial 6 month contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Adapt press releases and editorial content for social media to enhance engagement and broaden reach.
  • Develop tailored content for each social media platform, including videos, member stories, and educational content on workers' rights.
  • Provide support for various campaigns, including those addressing workers' rights, healthcare, education, and equality.
  • Engage with the social media community by responding to comments, messages, and interacting with followers.
  • Ensure consistency and quality in visual assets used across our communications channels.
  • Assist regional teams, branches, and activists with social media campaigns, content distribution, and media library management.
  • Analyse member engagement and content performance through regular social media reports.
  • Fill in for digital roles as needed to maintain operations.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to create compelling social media assets.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing social media platforms, with a deep understanding of their unique features and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging content for diverse audiences.
  • Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools like Canva, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Familiarity with workers' rights issues and a commitment to social justice are desirable
