Skilled Machinist Core Nights WA

Morson are exclusively recruiting for several CNC Machinists for our aerospace and defence client based in Bristol. 

All contracts are 6 months Initially although likely to be long-term/temp to permanent. . Please note all contracts also attract 28 days paid holiday allowance. Please enquire for further details on the roles should you be interested. 

£22.61 PAYE

Shifts available:

Monday – Wednesday 8pm-6am, Thursday 8.30-6.00am

MUST HAVE 3 YEARS aerospace experience if no apprenticeship paperwork

Machinist Role Purpose (experience required flexible)

To manufacture aircraft components from composite materials, using the latest technology CNC machinery which meets aircraft design drawing requirements.
• Manufacture, machine, measure, test and assemble aircraft components from composite and metallic materials, up to 15m in length, which are fully traceable, using automated machinery.
• Use of CNC rout machines, 5 Axis Zimmerman drilling and fettling gantry machines and jigged vacuum fixtures.
• Use of Renishaw probing equipment.
• Use of cutter tool setting equipment.
• Experience of loading and setting fixtures and tooling in CNC machines.
• Ideally with Siemens 840D control system experience – not essential
• Understanding of aircraft drawings, limits and quality systems
• Self motivated and with good communication skills.
• Able to work in small teams led by Process Team Leaders.
• Served a recognised apprenticeship or relevant experience in composite or aircraft environment.
• Embrace lean manufacture, waste reduction and improvement initiatives.
• Work in accordance with Health & Safety requirements, including relevant risk, COSHH and safe systems of work.
• Undertake training in advanced composite manufacturing techniques & processes.
