A Skilled Labourer with construction experience is needed to join a leading property restoration specialist company based in London. You must have a head for heights and be physically fit to excel in this role.

Role context:

Thomann-Hanry carries out cleaning, restoration, and new stonework to the finest residential and commercial properties in London. Over the last two decades Thomann-Hanry has grown significantly.

As its portfolio of work expands, the need for dedicated skilled labourers to support the team is required. A driving licence holder with experience of navigating vans around London along with basic experience of assisting various skilled crafts people with a variety of tasks is paramount to enable the company to deliver the best possible service to all clients and restoration projects.

Role purpose:

The role purpose is to perform varied tasks from day-to-day including physical tasks such as driving equipment to different sites across London, supporting the warehouse function, cleaning, removing debris, loading and unloading materials, assembling and disassembling temporary structures, and assisting skilled craftspeople with their duties.

Essential skills and experience:

  • A current and valid driving licence with good experience of driving a company van.
  • A current and valid CSCS card.
  • Physically strong and able to manipulate heavy objects.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Cleaning and preparing construction sites.
  • Handling, transporting, loading, and unloading materials and equipment.
  • Building and taking scaffolding and other temporary structures.
  • Operating and tending machinery and heavy equipment.
  • Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans.
  • Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in noisy areas for extended periods of time.
  • Excellent customer focus, strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

  • Manual Handling Experience.
  • Forklift truck licence.
  • Experience in operating truck mount platforms (category 3a and self-propelled booms category 3b).
  • Previous experience of working at heights in a predominantly outdoor environment.
  • IPAF certification.

Salary and benefits:

  • Day working will attract a salary of £28,000 p.a. paid monthly.
  • Working Hours: 40 hours per week; a standard 8am – 5pm day.
  • Overtime (Weekends and Out of Hours): 1.5 times for weekend work and for any time between 10pm and 6am.
  • Annual Leave: 21 days holiday + one extra day holiday for every full year of employment up to a maximum of 25 days + Bank and public holidays. The company shuts down over the Christmas period.
  • Birthday Leave: 1 day holiday given each year for you to take your birthday off or the following Monday if it falls on a weekend.
  • Pension: A contributory group personal pension scheme run via Scottish Widows.
