Roles / Job Purpose
The Site Supervisor is in charge of a group of workers. Typically, the Site Supervisor will have experience, a specialist knowledge of a trade and has moved into the position and be the main contact between the Contracts Manager and other employees and clients.
The site supervisor will require to efficiently deliver a customer focused service by ensuring that operations are compliant with company polices, standard of service, legislation and client specification.
Ensure the welfare and safety of all employees' sub-contractors and others who are directly affected by operations under the site supervisor's control.
To ensure that all contract work is carried out in full compliance with health, safety, welfare and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities
* Report to your Contracts Manager any issues and deficiencies with your section of the works design or operations.
* Ensure on-site risk assessments are carried out appropriately to determine the appropriate type and level of provision of signing, guarding, shoring, PPE etc.
* Make arrangements to ensure the outcome of the risk assessment is implemented prior to works commencing taking into consideration external factors e.g. road traffic, ground conditions, weather conditions etc.
* Budget/Revenue responsibility: Call off materials and equipment from approved suppliers
* Ensure equipment is correctly used and maintained in good order
* Ensure at all times that safety of pedestrians is paramount and that the needs of the disabled are considered.
* Ensure Safe Working in the Vicinity of buried Utilities
* Ensuring that all equipment is fit for use
* Ensure works are carried out in a safe and proper manner by implementing all controls as defined within the Site Specific Risk Assessment and to the standards required by the specification
* Carry out your work in a safe and proper manner
* Ensure adherence with the company Skills and Competence Policy and Procedures
* Keep records of your work as required by the company.
* Organise labour, plant and materials for your operations
* Liaising with your Contract Manager on a regular basis
* Deliver Team Briefs.
* Collecting site variations
* Material Ordering
* Manpower and Planning of works
* Deliver tool box talks

Health & Safety
Responsibility of, and compliance with, the company's H&S management systems; including the policy statement, organisation, arrangements and individual responsibilities.
Full understanding and knowledge of the Company's H&S targets and objectives and ensuring that work is carried out in harmony with, and in pursuance of, these.
Full understanding and knowledge of H&S legislation and best practice as it relates to company and individual responsibilities and duties.
Reporting any known or suspected defects or failings in the OH&S Management System to the relevant Manager without delay.

Qualifications/Experience for the role Appointment
Essential
-CSCS Card
-SMSTS or SSSTS
-First Aid
-Driving Licence

Desirable
-Knowledge and understanding of BS 5975 Temporary Works
-NRSWA
-Banksman/Slinger
-Pasload Certificate
-CPCS
-Confined Spaces
-Abrasive Wheels
-Risk Assessment Training

Experience/ Knowledge
-Good written and oral communication skills
-Good team management
-Minimum 5 years experience in civil works
-Results orientated
-Good problem solving skills
Ability to:
-develop new skills.
-work on own initiative
-meet financial and company deadlines.
-work as part of a team.
-Demonstrate an understanding of ISO 9001,ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
- General IT literacy.
- Microsoft Office package - Intermediate levels.
