Site Manager

Your new company is a design and build contractor that has been awarded a £10 million project to construct a new teaching block in Crawley, Sussex. The project consists of a ground floor and three storeys, steel frame on piles, precast concrete planks, SFS and Cladding on the outside, flat roofing system, internal dry lining, high spec internals and finishes.
Your new role is to report to a project manager to act as the number two on site but also as the number one on site in the absence of the project manager. The duties would be to attend designMeetings with stakeholders and designers, control subcontractor coordination progress meetings to ensure the site team adheres to the program. Other duties are to be responsible for health & safety, quality control, environment, delivery of materials, direct and subcontract labour.
What you'll need to succeed is CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid, computer-literate and have a record of managing design & build projects of value up to £10 million in the UK as the number one on site. The successful candidate must fit into a team consisting of a PM and site QS as well as suppliers and have a technical understanding of all of the above subcontract packages from foundations to internals and practical completion. Previous experience of building similar new public buildings such as schools, hospitals, colleges tec would be desirable. You will have a stable work history with permanent employers and not freelance assignments.
What you'll get in return is a salaried position paying between £55,000 to £65,000 plus company benefits on a project lasting 61 weeks.
