Position Overview: We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Site Engineer to join a team and work on a prestigious high rise residential project in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of construction activities on site, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Senior Engineer in setting out and surveying works on site, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  2. Oversee the installation and quality of temporary and permanent works, including foundations, structural elements, and building services.
  3. Monitor and report on the progress of construction activities, identifying any issues or discrepancies and proposing solutions.
  4. Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to coordinate work activities and resolve technical queries.
  5. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with design drawings, specifications, and relevant regulations.
  6. Implement and enforce health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
  7. Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings, documentation, and handover procedures at project completion.

Requirements:

  1. Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  2. Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on high rise residential or commercial construction projects.
  3. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant British Standards.
  4. Proficiency in surveying techniques and the use of total stations, GPS, and other surveying equipment.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  6. Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to promoting a culture of safety on site.
  7. Ability to prioritise tasks, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure.
  8. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office suite, and other relevant software applications.
