Site Chemist
As a Site Chemist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe handling, analysis, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste at our client’s facility. You will gain expertise in the safe handling of industrial chemicals, testing and treatment processes of different types of waste.
The successful applicant will ideally have a bachelor’s degree stemming from a chemistry discipline or environmental science (Chemistry A- levels/Applied Science BTECs can also be considered) and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions. You will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times due to the nature of this role.
Duties would include (but not limited to):
- Accept incoming loads and completing documentation in accordance with the site permit.
- Inspect, classify and segregate materials/waste and ensure loads are labelled and described in accordance with ADR.
- Laboratory analysis of site effluent and other customer samples.
- Ensure Non-Conformance reports are raised in line with procedures, issues identified, corrective action taken and communicated to all relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain the accurate and timely completion of all relevant documentation of traceable records in line with Quality Management Systems of all chemical consignments received, stored and transferred.
- Assist with preparing loads for dispatch by flatbed vehicles and vacuum tankers.
Desirables:
- Any experience working in waste management would be advantageous but not necessary
- UK Driving License
