This is a fantastic opportunity to join a very highly specialised fire alarm company, as a site based fire alarm service and maintenance engineer. 
 
There will be times where you need to travel between sites and this will be considered as part of your working day. 
 
Overall responsibilities
Carry out maintenance, repair, installation and commissioning of equipment in accordance with the Company’s contractual obligations in an economic and profitable manner. Take overall responsibility for the fire alarm system at two sites one in Basildon and one in Colchester, Essex. 
 
Specific responsibilities
Carry out planned maintenance visits when requested by the Coordinator.
React to customer call outs during normal office hours when requested by the Coordinator.
Participate in the Company’s 24 hour 365 day call out rota.
React to customer call outs outside normal office hours when requested by the Customer.
Complete all necessary service documentation, on time and accurately.
Provide detailed reports for all remedial works required
Work in a safe manner abiding by all Risk Assessments and Method Statements
Complete and submit monthly timesheets including authorised overtime claims.
Complete and submit monthly expense claims.
Complete the service management system at the correct times
Accurately complete service reports for each and every job ensuring additional materials and labour for invoicing is recorded.
 
Strive to achieve and maintain a 95% plus performance in relation to all aspects of the position
 
Key Performance indicators (KPIs):
Efficient completion of daily tasks including informing office of potential delays
Good time keeping
Accurate use of service reporting system
Monthly expense claim submittal
Accurate and professional service reporting
Monthly timesheet submittal
 
The candidate
 
Experience 3 year plus record of successful service, maintenance and commissioning of a wide variety of fire alarm equipment including Gent, Kentec, Advanced and Morley.
Ability to carry out small commissioning and/or installations an advantage.
Satisfactory DBS clearance required (enhanced when required)
ECS Card required
Practical and technical knowledge of BS5839 Part 1 2017
The package
 
Salary: According to experience, attractive £37k to £40k basic
 
Overtime paid at time and half and double time rates
