Are you an experienced Senior Service Engineer looking to your next step in fire and security?

Starting Point Recruitment is thrilled to present a permanent position for our esteemed client based within the London area.

Position: Permanent
Salary: £38-£42k
Working Hours: Full time

Job Purpose:
The Senior Engineer will manage complex sites, supports customers, and mentors junior Engineers. They provide expertise across multiple products, offering out-of-hours support and potentially on site assistance as needed.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
  • Assist colleagues with technical issues via phone or on-site.
  • Conduct monthly engineer audits and report findings to supervisor.
  • Carry out minor remedial works during PPM visits as instructed by the client.
  • Provide technical support and mentor colleagues, ensuring adherence to company standards and mentoring trainees in best practices.
Skills:
  • To have the ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • To have good verbal and written communication skills, including to prepare reports/complete service call-out documentation.
  • To have the ability to form good working relationships with colleagues, customers and outside bodies.
  • Use initiative and have strong attention to detail considering the life safety industry we operate within.
  • To have good organisational and time management skills.
Specific Requirements:
  • Competency Level 3
  • Demonstrated experience in the fire industry, with proficiency in installing, testing, commissioning, and servicing Fire Alarm Systems and/or Security Systems.
  • Excellent servicing, diagnostic, and fault-finding skills, capable of resolution through elimination or technical recommendations.
  • Computer literate with strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word; proficient in software programming on main line products such as Morley, Advanced, Kentec, etc.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience with broader and higher technical range equipment like Simplex, EST, Siemens, including software configuration and programming.
