£45,453 PER ANNUM

Monday to Friday

3 Shift pattern - 06:00-14:00/ 14:00- 22:00/ 22:00- 06:00

Working on behalf of our client, a global leading sustainable packaging solutions provider, Search are delighted to present this permanent position to the market. Focused on plastic-based products, our client has a core focus to balance delivering on customer needs alongside preserving our planet.

Based in Rotherham, this site is one of 20 manufacturing facilities within the group employing over 2,500 across the UK, Canada, China, Europe and the US and focuses on producing household wheeled bins and products for us within rail and retail and is offering the following benefits:

THE ROLE

The role reports directly to the Senior Shift Supervisor and requires a hands-on involvement in all manufacturing processes and demands of a busy injection moulding plant. Leading a shift of Production Operatives, Process Technicians and FLT Drivers to provide optimum efficiency of lines and associated systems/ equipment is the key purpose whilst maintaining audit ready standards at all times.

Health & Safety sits at the core of all processes alongside first class quality standards, ensuring this criteria is met consistently and efficiently is essential.

Key Duties include, not limited to:

  • Managing the daily production plan requirements and resource availability including the team and raw materials.
  • Maintaining high level compliance across the shift in line with Company policies/ procedures and standards, identifying and implementing the necessary CI and corrective actions promptly
  • Conducting the required checks, data inputting and reporting through the system throughout shift in line with deadlines
  • Providing an effective and detailed handover between other Shift Supervisors to ensure all safety, people, quality, delivery and cost issues are handled fully
  • Management of labour on shift to include headcount to shift profile & budget levels, holiday rules and overtime management
  • Lead and participate in all CI activities effectively fault finding and carrying out root cause analysis to ensure corrective actions are taken to positively impact OEE results
  • Motivate & manage team members to influence performance & company standards and implement development plans to include skills, behaviours and competencies.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate hands on experience within a busy, ideally injection moulding based, manufacturing environment with solid capability leading, developing and managing a team as well as labour planning and training compliance.

Competent use of Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and in-house IT systems is essential and an ability to record, analyse and present various forms of data is key. Adherence to all Health & Safety and Quality standards is critical and applicants will be required to demonstrate their skills and experience in all of the above.
