We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Shift Team Leaderwho has previous experience in a similar industrial, production role with good general knowledge of the plant and process and the drive to achieve high standards.

Working as the Senior Manufacturing Shift Team Leader your role will involve the management of a team of around 18 people ensuring their health, safety and well-being is of the highest priority.

As the Senior Manufacturing Shift Team Leader the role is focused on ensuring that the manufacture of the company’s products is effective and efficient, providing a good quality product to their customers, using lean manufacturing and continuous improvement technique.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Senior Manufacturing Shift Team Leader include:

  • Responsible for the health, safety and wellbeing of the team, challenging poor safety habits and coaching to promote a strong HSE culture, building awareness of hazard and risk, prompting team to raise hazards and near misses through the correct process
  • Be environmentally aware, managing shifts waste and environmental impact, relating back to the businesses core values
  • Sets high standards for quality and output, ensuring compliance with SOP, accountable for working to plan and meeting business unit targets and efficiencies
  • Drive a quality mindset within the team, following company’s quality control process and procedures; supporting production trials associated with equipment & product improvements, auditing quality of product & dealing with non-conforming product
  • Act when process fails, understanding the correct procedures and escalation to return to production safely and efficiently
  • Understand teams’ weaknesses and strength and highlight key areas for training and improvement
  • Ensure all equipment is fit for purpose; reporting and escalating if equipment needs replaced or repaired
  • Management of team’s holidays and timekeeping, updating and editing systems to ensure accurate recording of hours worked
  • Maintain excellent standards in all aspects of production
  • Ensure conformance to all Standard Operating Procedures for the production line
  • Takes action when processes are not running well, identifies issues and relays to maintenance staff, prioritizing tasks
  • Work across departments to deliver plant improvements and contribute to continuous improvement and lean initiatives
  • Work as a good team member, supporting others and sharing knowledge
  • Liaises well with all departments on a daily basis, attends and contributes to short interval control meetings using this as a method to manage and control shift performance

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a similar industrial, manufacturing, production role
  • Good general knowledge of the plant and process
  • Ability to organise self and Team, identifying training requirements
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication skills
  • Resilience
  • Ability to learn new tasks and to change with new developments
  • Drive to achieve high standards
