Position – Service Manager

Industry – Water Hygiene / Treatment

Location – Aldermaston (Within 25 miles)

Client

My client is a water treatment/environmental services company, working primarily within the commercial/building services/swimming pool/hotel/industrial sectors.

They are a serviced-based operation providing chemical treatments and expertise with an emphasis on good service and speedy communication - with a range of clients including airlines, schools, hospitals, local councils, and commercial buildings.

Position

The role involves running the service department working in conjunction with the sales and admin teams to drive the service side of the business.

A split of Office and field work initially.

*We are looking for an ambitious individual who aspires to progress in their career, this may lead to becoming an Operations Manager.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Have at least 5 years’ experience in water hygiene/water treatment, ideally closed loops, and open cooling systems.
  • Be conversant with Legionella control in commercial and industrial buildings, compliance legislation and health and safety regulations.
  • Have knowledge of IT systems and be conversant with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Have a good working knowledge of the water treatment and control systems of cooling systems, steam boilers and closed systems – including the chemical and microbiological aspects.
  • Be able to carry out quality analysis of service reports and audit site works.
  • Be able to run a team of engineers to ensure delivery of planned service calls and reactive maintenance across the service area.
  • Ensure business policies and processes are effectively communicated & implemented.
  • Provide on-site backup to the engineers.
  • Improve performance in the service department.
  • To carry out compliance audits to ensure the technical team are 100% compliant against statutory & KPI requirements.
  • Have experience of risk management and the methods employed to manage risks, hazards, and controls.
  • Have full understanding of H&S and other regulatory obligations applicable to service management.
  • Track and organise training for service staff and mentor as applicable, administer work schedules for jobs and supervise the progress of the jobs.
