JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Motor Vehicle Service Manager / Repair and Maintenance Supervisorwho has a background in breakdown and recovery operations, strong communication skills and proven experience in a leadership role with good people management skills.

Working as the Motor Vehicle Service Manager / Repair and Maintenance Supervisor you will be accountable for managing the Heathrow Ramp & Recovery operations to deliver outstanding levels of customer service, whilst maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.

As the Motor Vehicle Service Manager / Repair and Maintenance Supervisor you will pro-actively drive productivity and efficient use of resources to deliver a safe, punctual and cost-efficient operation.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Motor Vehicle Service Manager / Repair and Maintenance Supervisorinclude:

  • Ensure all Breakdowns, Recoveries and Preventative works are carried out in a safe and efficient manner
  • Be accountable for the safety and wellbeing of all staff Airside and Landside
  • Pro-actively investigate all safety incidents and implement mitigation to prevent re-occurrence
  • Attend Monthly Safety Governance Group Meetings and progress agreed safety actions to closure
  • Conduct regular PPE audits and quality assurance checks to ensure excellent safety standards are maintained at all times
  • Manage Pro-time ensuring on-time clocking in and out
  • Complete Personal Development Reviews (PDR) with your team and identify any training, development or knowledge gaps
  • Allocate all P1 , P2 and P3 jobs to Technicians confirming response times meet contractual targets
  • Ensure that parts requests are managed effectively, costs are confirmed and all ordered parts fitted
  • Deliver regular Toolbox Talks to ensure colleagues are informed, engaged, consulted and valued

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Customer oriented and service delivery focused
  • Proven experience in a Management or Supervisory capacity and can demonstrate strong people management skills and the ability to lead a team
  • Background in Breakdown and Recovery operations
  • Literate, analytical, numerate
  • Good financial understanding and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of workshop procedures and systems
  • Good knowledge of I.T systems ELC & SAP
  • Experience of working in a customer focused pressurised environment
  • Driving Licence
  • Must be eligible to obtain a valid Airside Pass & Driving Permit

Desirable

  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations (IOSH/NEBOSH)
  • Operational expertise
  • Motor mechanics - LGV & heavy vehicles
  • IOSH/NEBOSH
  • CPC
  • HGV & PSV license
