Our client is a public sector organisation operating in the construction industry and based in Carlisle. This client approached Hays as they are looking for a service desk manager to join their current IT department. You will be reporting to a highly passionate IT manager, someone who is forward-thinking and keen to develop their current team. The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic, dynamic and collaborative team with continuous technical and personal development.
Your new role
In this role you will be leading the current user-focused service desk and operational support to ensure that all systems, networks and infrastructure support colleagues to deliver the work effectively. You will monitor and maintain systems, configuring, networking, installing and supporting all IT systems. In your role, you will be managing a team of 2 in which you will deal with all KPI's / performance plans / operations and ensure a smooth running of the team. As well as managing the team, you will need to monitor and maintain computer systems and networks also, regularly monitor the service desk performance and continually identify opportunities for performance improvement.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will hold a degree in a Technology related HND or equivalent through relevant training / experience. You will need to have experience and a good understanding of IT management and provision of effective communication to multiple colleagues regarding downtime and time to resolve problems. It is essential you have experience with the following systems: Microsoft Active Directory, SharePoint, Exchange Server, Office 365, MS Windows 10 etc.
What you'll get in return
You will be working for a dynamic organisation and specifically working in a collaborative team on a salary of £39,449 - £43,521 per annum. The hours for this role are 36.25 per week, and you will be working on a highly flexible hybrid working pattern. Company benefits include 25 days + BH annual leave, an induction programme and ongoing personal development schemes, a performance bonus scheme, a staff saving scheme, 13 days 'Flexi days' per annum.
