Job Description: Serious Injury Assistant  
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £24,000-£32,000

About the Role:

Join a dynamic legal team as a Serious Injury Assistant, handling a wide range of personal injury claims. You'll be responsible for both litigated and non-litigated cases, focusing on high-value and technically complex matters. Your duties will include risk assessment, case management, drafting legal documents, and client communication. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and make a meaningful impact on clients' lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage litigated and non-litigated personal injury claims, emphasising serious injury and multi-track cases.
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments and communicate concerns to supervisors regarding liability, causation, and quantum.
  • Promptly notify supervisors of any settlement offers and maintain accurate records of offers received.
  • Identify subtle head injuries and escalate concerns to appropriate managers.
  • Liaise with courts, medical experts, and other external agencies as necessary.
  • Obtain and review relevant evidence, including medical records and discovery documents.
  • Assist with drafting legal pleadings, instructions, and witness statements under supervision.
  • Participate in business development activities and provide mentoring/training to team members as needed.
  • Attend client meetings and handle other tasks as assigned.
Experience & Skills:

  • Substantial experience in managing litigated personal injury cases or assisting with serious injury claims.
  • Strong client care and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in IT, including case management systems and MS Office.
  • Ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with external agencies, including medical professionals and barristers.
