Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Wood Machinist to join our team as a Senior Wood Machinist. As a Senior Wood Machinist, you will be responsible for setting, programming, trouble shooting, and operating various CNC wood machines, including Weining and SCM multi-head moulders to manufacture Engineered Wood Flooring, ensuring safe and efficient production operations.

Duties

  • Programming, setting and operating CNC wood machines
  • Reading and working to technical drawings
  • Working to tight tolerances, producing high precision work
  • Maintain 6S standard for all production areas
  • Adhere to all requirements of the company Health, Safety and Environmental Policy
  • Support environmental sustainability initiatives within the company

Required knowledge, skills or experience

  • Previous experience as a Wood Machinist (Preferably Time Served)
  • Have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade C or higher
  • Forklift licence an advantage (training can be provided)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
  • Highly motivated and self-directed
  • Numeracy skills and ability to understand numerical data
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required

Location: Shildon

Hours of work:

  • Day shift (40-hour week)

Rates of pay: Up to £32000 per year depending on experience
