We're looking for a Senior Volunteering & Community Officer to join the team at Belton.

As Senior Volunteering & Community Officer, you'll work with the wider team to deliver Belton’s community connections plan and long term community ambition.

Belton is one of the busiest properties in the National Trust, welcoming over 400,000 visitors per year. Volunteers play a key part in enabling us to deliver a great visitor experience throughout the year. With over 450 volunteers you'll work alongside all departments on the property ensuring that they provide a consistent and engaging volunteering experience.

What you'll be doing

Working with the community, collaborators and funders, you'll deliver the various engagement projects that make up Belton’s community connections plan, as well as develop the recently reacquired Grantham House, into a Community hub for the town of Grantham. Another key area of delivery will be Belton’s community festival which will be held in September. Other focuses include our Partnership project with the Woodland Trust, continuing to develop volunteering across site, as well as to further grow our engagement with young people.

As well as maintaining a strong volunteer model at property, the focus will be around delivering the community ambitions we have planned in for the next 5 years.

Who we're looking for We’d love to hear from you if you have: 
  • understanding and good practice of volunteer management
  • understanding of good practice in community engagement and involvement, as well as broader participation and partnership working
  • practical and successful experience of developing and implementing new products and approaches to volunteers
  • excellent organisational and planning skills
  • ability to coach and support people managing, supervising and working alongside volunteers and community partners
  • strong communication skills
