Role Purpose:

As a Senior Valuation Surveyor you will carry out valuations across multiple asset classes including office, retail, industrial and education sectors and alternative sectors such as purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA). Valuations will be carried out for a range of purposes including financial accounting, business and tax planning, asset management and strategic consultancy advice. You may be required to provide advice at any stage of the property lifecycle including for acquisition, development purposes, or disposal. You will do this by undertaking property inspections and the necessary due diligence and market research to support your interpretation and understanding of the market dynamics and issues affecting value. This a London based role. We offer hybrid working after successful completion of your probation period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to valuations across a broad range of asset types
  • Undertaking formal Red Book valuations for a variety of purposes including acquisition, disposal, financial accounting and strategic advice;
  • Assisting in portfolio valuations for financial accounting purposes;
  • Assisting with asset management and consultancy advice for landlord clients;
  • Working with a range of clients including investors, developers, landed estates, charities and members of the legal profession;
  • Providing advice to clients based on strong sector knowledge through wider collaboration with Daniel Watney departments and personal research;
  • Maintaining department databases;
  • Maintaining an understanding of both local and national real estate markets and industry trends;
  • Providing timely professional advice ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Assisting with the development of junior members of the team
  • To support an expanding team in its business development objectives and continued growth in revenue

Experience/qualifications

Essential

  • Proven Valuations experience
  • RICS Registered Valuer
  • Minimum 2-3 years PQE
  • London knowledge and experience
  • Ability to undertake due diligence and create a professional RICS compliant report

Desirable

  • In-depth knowledge of best valuation practices
  • Proven ability to drive projects to a successful and timely conclusion

  • Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Highly proficient IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and valuation software (Argus or KEL)
  • Able to work to targets and deadlines with a high degree of autonomy
  • Friendly and approachable, with a desire to provide an excellent service
  • Reliable and dependable with a flexible attitude towards work
