The Company

The Client, a leading international interdisciplinary practice of architects, designers, engineers, and urbanists, is looking for a Senior Transport Planner. The successful candidate will join the newly formed Transport Planning team in Manchester Office, and supporting projects across the North and North West!

The position of a Senior Transport Planner:

As a Senior Transport Planner, you'll play a pivotal role in our newly established Transport Planning team. You'll work closely with our civil engineering and urbanism teams on a diverse range of projects, from masterplanning to infrastructure design. Key responsibilities include conducting site appraisals, developing transport assessments, and fostering client relationships.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our transport planning capabilities while collaborating with talented professionals across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities as a Senior Transport Planner:

  • Conduct site access appraisals and transport assessments
  • Develop concept designs for highway schemes and junction improvements
  • Mentor junior team members and foster their professional development
  • Cultivate client relationships and contribute to business development efforts
  • Prepare fee proposals and assist in securing new opportunities
  • Monitor project resourcing and financial performance

Essential Requirements for the Senior Transport Planner:

  • Proven experience in a Transport Planning consultancy
  • Strong knowledge of transport planning policy, principles, and standards
  • Relevant postgraduate experience and ideally pursuing Chartered status
  • Proficiency in software such as Linsig and Junctions 9; experience with TRACC is advantageous
  • Familiarity with local and national transport policy and guidance

  • Customer-focused with the ability to manage client expectations effectively
