The successful Senior Tax Consultant would be joining a strong existing tax team with extensive experience in company tax planning work for OMBs, including group reorganisations, management buy outs/ins, demergers, incorporations, pension funds, property tax planning, together with a growing M&A function.

Senior Tax Consultant - Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate tax advice to clientele as requested by various communication channels.
  • Manage multiple tax projects (typically corporate reorganisations) as required to completion.
  • Deliver the project as per the Project Brief within expected timescales, budget and agreed tax position.
  • Delivery of project includes effective communication with client, internally and other 3rd parties (including solicitors)
  • Contributing to and following the internal project steps plan. This could include (but not limited to):
  • Preparation of valuations
  • Tax analysis
  • Drafting HMRC clearances and correspondence
  • Instructing solicitors
  • Involvement in registrations, elections, other filings
  • Tax planning to optimise outcomes for clients
  • Communication with clients, to present, provide advise and keep them informed at different points in project
  • Firm risk mitigation by ensuring procedures are robust, relevant disclosures are made to HMRC, etc.
  • Ensuring all deadlines and filings requirements are adhered to.
  • Create strategies for businesses and individuals to minimise their tax liabilities.
  • Deliver projects or tasks on-time (DOT) and within budget (DIB) as per internal and statutory deadlines.

Senior Tax Consultant - Skills & Attributes required:

  • Fully CTA qualified
  • Ideally 5+ years' post-qualification experience
  • Prepared to adapt to our way of doing things, solutions oriented and client centric
  • Technical approach - deep knowledge/experience of corporate tax, works from first principles/legislation rather than guidance/HMRC view
  • Keen attitude to learning and growing your knowledge
  • A positive attitude and enthusiastic contributor to the team
  • Ability to problem solve and find solutions
  • Good presentation and communication skills
