Senior SQL Server Database Administrator

About the Role: Join a dynamic team in a critical role, shaping the development and operation of their database environment. As the Database Product Owner, your focus will be on defining technical requirements, prioritising features, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal database performance within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and communicate a clear database vision and strategy aligned with organisational goals.
• Define and prioritise database requirements based on customer and business needs.
• Manage the database development and operations backlog, ensuring alignment with priorities.
• Ensure high product quality through quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee the entire life cycle, from inception to retirement, making informed decisions for optimal performance.
• Monitor and adjust database performance, taking proactive measures to address issues.
• Control unit costs associated with the environment and engage in benchmarking exercises.

Qualifications:Essential

• Extensive experience in database administration and management.
• Knowledge of Database Management Systems: MySQL, MS SQL, MongoDB, No SQL, etc.
• Experience in database design, data modelling, SQL, backup & recovery, performance tuning, warehousing, scripting, and security.

Desirable

• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., MS Certified, MongoDB Certified).
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Merge replication.
