We are working with a remarkable law firm seeking a Senior Associate/Principal Associate specialising in sports law to join one of their seven offices,

The sports team represents players' associations, individual athletes, clubs, and agents on a diverse range of sports law matters, including regulatory issues, contractual negotiations, image rights, marketability, and personal affairs.

Joining this successful and growing team offers exposure to significant clients and varied, intellectually stimulating work across all offices.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Successful applicants will be expected to apply their in-depth knowledge of sports law to navigate and negotiate commercial solutions for clients under sometimes challenging and high-pressure conditions.
  • Responsibilities include participation in regulatory disputes and conducting both international and domestic dispute resolutions (including litigation, arbitration, and mediations) across various courts and tribunals, with a primary focus on domestic sports tribunals, FIFA, UEFA, and the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
  • The ideal candidate will also engage in media and entertainment work. Moreover, the firm boast extensive experience advising leagues and governing bodies on corporate governance matters.

Experience Required:

  • They seek a highly motivated Associate comfortable in an international, fast-paced, and dynamic team environment.
  • The successful candidate should possess substantial regulatory and/or dispute resolution experience with a track record of handling complex regulatory/contentious sports law matters.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in sports law, particularly in football, and familiarity with related legal and regulatory issues.
  • Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess experience in handling media and entertainment matters.
  • Proficiency in handling complex regulatory/contentious matters within the sports law context.
  • Excellent IT skills, including advanced MS Office proficiency.
