Are you an experienced Senior Social Worker or Advanced Practitioner looking for an exciting opportunity in fostering? We're expanding our teams and seeking passionate individuals to join us in making a difference in the lives of children and families in Southend-On-Sea.

Positions Available:

  1. Senior Social Workers (Fostering Recruitment Team)
  2. Senior Social Workers (Fostering Support Team)
  3. Advanced Practitioners (Fostering Support Team)

Job Description:

Senior Social Worker (Fostering Recruitment Team):

  • Collaborate with the fostering recruitment team to identify and assess potential foster carers.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and provide ongoing support to foster carers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Work closely with external agencies and stakeholders to promote fostering opportunities and recruit suitable candidates.
  • Provide guidance and advice to prospective foster carers, addressing their queries and concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Advanced Practitioner (Fostering Support Team):

  • Offer expert guidance and support to foster carers, assisting them in managing complex cases and challenging situations.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of foster placements to ensure the safety and well-being of children in care.
  • Provide specialist training and development opportunities for foster carers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement effective support plans for children and families.
  • Act as a mentor and role model for less experienced team members, sharing best practices and promoting professional growth.

Requirements:

  • Registered with the Social Work England (SWE).
  • Completed Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
  • Experience working within fostering services, preferably in recruitment or support roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
  • Excellent assessment and decision-making abilities, with a commitment to ensuring the welfare and safeguarding of children.
  • Flexibility to work in a hybrid model, with some office-based and remote work.
  • Candidates must be willing to relocate to Southend-On-Sea, with a relocation package of up to £8,000 available.
