Position: Grade: SO2 - PO3 (Kinship) Social Worker/Senior Social Worker
Section: Directorate: Children's Services Department Fostering Service
Location: Richmond/Wandsworth Shared Staffing Arrangement

Salary: £49,503 per annum

Job Purpose:
We are seeking dedicated Social Workers who are passionate about improving the lives of children in need and their families. As a Social Worker/Senior Social Worker in the Kinship/Post Permanence service, you will play a pivotal role in assessing potential family links, foster carers, and Special Guardians, as well as providing ongoing support and supervision to approved carers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead professional in statutory cases requiring a qualified social worker.
  • Conduct assessments and approvals of family link and foster carers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and court directives.
  • Provide support, supervision, and training to foster carers and Special Guardians.
  • Coordinate post-permanence support for Special Guardians.
  • Facilitate collaborative working with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in continuous professional development.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Social Work or equivalent qualification recognized by Social Work England.
  • Membership with Social Work England.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in safeguarding children.
  • Experience working in statutory settings with children and families.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
