Our client is recruiting a Senior Shift Operations Manager to support their key warehouse operation.

Description

Reporting directly to the General Manager you will be responsible for the full range of product movements from receipt through to preparation for delivery. Operating in one of the largest distribution facilities in our clients network you will have the ability to deliver world class customer service. As the most senior person on shift, a significant portion of your time you will be accountable for a variety of business metrics including safety, engagement, cost, process and service. Based at our clients operation in North London, key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, supporting, coaching and developing a team of frontline managers in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrating a strong ability to drive operational compliance to process.
  • Strong decision making skills and the ability to lead the team effectively under pressure from multiple areas of the business with safety as the highest priority.

Profile

The successful Senior Shift Operations Manager will live within a commuting distance of North London and be able to demonstrate the following experience:

  • Be able to work a 4-on-4-off shift that rotates across days and nights.
  • Previous experience in a senior warehouse leadership role is required.
  • Experience within a high volume/fast paced warehouse environment is preferred (eg food, drink, pharmaceuticals).
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to deliver performance improvement through wider team members.
  • Proven track record of succession planning and performance management.
  • Ability to develop your direct reports with a coaching style aligned to a live operation.
  • Can manage effectively and lead change initiatives.
  • You will maintain high standards of customer service for internal customers/external customers and communicate these values to your team.
  • Experience of working within a unionised environment.
