Salary - Up to £70k (Dependant on suitability and experience)

Location - Reading / Basingstoke Area

As Senior Safety-Shift Operations Manager you will be accountable to Group Leader Site Services for the provision of a 24/7 Safety Shift. You will maintain regulatory, legislative compliance to support safe, secure, and clean operations across all sites.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Define, implement, and lead the strategic direction of the Safety Shift group.

  • Delivery of all contractual milestones to agreed targets.

  • Effective financial and resource planning and budgeting.

  • Implementation of performance management arrangements.

  • Develop and support transformation initiatives.

  • Protection of the company's brand and reputation.

  • Ownership of all relevant corporate standards and processes.

  • Engaging and inspiring colleagues, promoting a diverse and inclusive environment that encourages them to seek opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Maintain and promote high personal standards of ethical working, environment, safety, health, security, and quality and be a great team player.

  • Implementation of efficiency and value adding initiatives.

  • Responsible for undertaking other duties as reasonably required by line and task management.

  • Prepare and own companywide Shift Management processes, standards, procedures, work instructions and undertake management review to ensure standards etc. are being adhered to.

  • Promoting and maintaining effective relationships with external stakeholders and regulators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for operational and tactical management of the group.

  • Promoting and developing business relationships with all internal and external stakeholders (regulators and customers).

  • Responsible for the provision of suitably qualified and experienced personnel capable of delivering the requirements of the programme.

  • Responsible for maintaining minimum manning numbers and competence in compliance with LC11.

  • Responsible for the provision of safe, clean, and secure services and operations.

  • Intelligent customer responsibilities.

  • The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.

Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:

  • Financial and strategic awareness.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to motivate, enthuse and empathise when necessary and challenge and constructively manage conflict.

  • Decisive managerial and leadership skills.

  • Ability to identify problems, evaluate options and formulate effective solutions.

  • Ability to engage, communicate and negotiate effectively at all organisational levels.

  • Experience managing in high hazard/highly regulated environments.

  • Interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including customer and regulators and translate stakeholder needs and business strategy into tactical plans.

  • Experience in Emergency management/operational response.

  • A background in Nuclear/chemical/oil and gas industry would be beneficial but is not essential.

  • This is a Monday - Friday (9 day fortnight) role however some flexibility and willingness to work outside of standard hours would be required if needed to support the 24/7 shift team.

All candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
