We are currently partnering with a prominent principal contractor in Cambridge, renowned for their diverse portfolio of projects across various sectors, including new build, retail, offices, education, and healthcare.

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's dynamic team in Cambridge. The successful candidate will lead the charge in ensuring the successful delivery of projects through effective cost management and commercial expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading cost estimation, planning, and control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Overseeing procurement and management of subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Providing in-depth financial reporting and analysis to guide decision-making.
  • Spearheading initiatives to optimize costs and enhance project profitability.
  • Collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensuring meticulous compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably with a principal contractor.
  • Profound knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
