SENIOR PURCHASING MANAGER

Salary: $130,000 -$150,000
Location: North Carolina

Hybrid 2-3 days per week

What you'll do:
As a Senior Purchasing Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our procurement strategy. You will be responsible for developing appropriate plans and business processes that align with this global chemical manufacturers objectives. Your ability to negotiate agreements that enhance cost savings while improving service levels will be key in this role. You will guide strategies focused on data-driven analysis while considering cross-functional impacts. Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to develop robust relationships with suppliers and internal teams alike. Monitoring supplier performance will fall under your remit as well as providing high-quality communication to senior management.

* Develop appropriate plans, business processes, and metrics in line with business objectives balancing partner needs including cost, complexity and high service levels.
* Negotiate and implement agreements that enhance cost savings, improve service levels, mitigate contractual risks, optimise asset utilisation, and build/improve overall value.
* Guide strategies to focus on data driven analysis, thorough quantitative and qualitative decision frameworks considering cross-functional impacts to various collaborators.
* Develop strong working relationships with suppliers and relevant internal teams to drive sourcing strategies that lower cost and risk.
* Monitor and analyse supplier performance, quality, and delivery to ensure compliance and identify means to improve results.
* Provide high-quality communication to senior management for periodic and ad-hoc reporting on current operations, market changes, emerging risks and actionable mitigation plans.


What you bring:
The ideal Senior Purchasing Manager will bring a wealth of experience in procurement and supply chain management. You will have a strong academic background with a preference for a master's degree in a business-related field. Your experience will span across strategy development, procurement, quality management, inventory management, and distribution. A key requirement for this role is chemical raw material sourcing. Your ability to lead teams successfully and your comprehensive knowledge of procurement processes and strategies will be crucial to your success in this role. An understanding of market trends and opportunities, including new technologies, will also be beneficial.

* Bachelor's degree in Procurement/Supply-Chain, Finance or another business-related field; master's degree preferred.
* 10+ years of related experience inclusive of 7+ years experience in managing sourcing activities.
* Experience in strategy development, procurement, quality management, inventory management, distribution is essential.
* Chemical raw material sourcing is required.
* 5+ years management experience in progressively challenging sourcing roles.
* Strong data and analytical skills with the ability to collect and interpret data to make informed decisions.
* Comprehensive knowledge of procurement business process and strategies.
* Proven track record of building and leading successful teams.
* Significant experience in all aspects of sourcing/procurement lifecycle.
* Clear understanding of market trends and opportunities, including new technologies.
