Are you an experienced Property Lawyer looking for an exciting opportunity to handle complex property work in a dynamic environment? We're seeking a Senior Lawyer Property at a South London Borough.

Position: Senior Property Lawyere

Department: Legal

Rate: £58.55 per hour Umbrella

Length of contract: 6 Months

About the Role

As a Senior Lawyer Property, you'll be responsible for handling more complex property matters including residential and commercial conveyancing, as well as regeneration advice. You'll also can deputize for the Principal Lawyer when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient and timely legal advice, managing and coordinating the work of staff within the team.
  • Manage a group of staff within the team on a day-to-day basis.
  • Handle a personal caseload of complex property advice and agreement preparation work.
  • Draft complex legal documents and provide guidance on property law matters.
  • Act as a legal advisor to Members and Officers, attending Committees as required.
  • Keep updated on legislation and professional requirements and provide training as necessary.
  • Assist in negotiations and liaise with clients to promote Legal Services.

Requirements

  • Substantial practical experience in property law, preferably within a local authority context.
  • Experience managing staff and ensuring work objectives are met within set timescales.
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Cilex with a current practicing certificate.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently under pressure.

Location: The role will primarily be based in South London, with the flexibility for remote work. Ideally you would be expected to be in the office a minimum of one - two a week during the inital training period.
