The Opportunity

Responsible for managing and delivering a large scale and highly complex programme of work with multiple workstreams, delivering outcomes that have corporate-wide strategic impact to time, cost and quality. The programme will focus on major people transformation initiatives to include a major transfer of employment of several hundred heads (TUPE), relocation of physical offices, replacement IT hardware, residual kit and software.

The Senior Programme Manager will be responsible for managing, driving, and supporting the delivery of Workstream leads, working closely with these teams in a hands-on capacity. Programmes will represent major change across several areas of the business, additionally the role is responsible for helping to identify and implement the strategy for applications and technologies, proactively resolve issues and collate information for creation of status logs.

You will lead, manage and motivate large, diverse teams and other resources, including substantial off-shore technical resources, to drive successful outcomes of the programme and its workstreams. You will also be the main interface between the Senior Management (Programme Sponsor), workstream leads and subsequent project managers.

Key action areas:

• Work with the Programme Sponsor and stakeholders to understand strategic context and to define and agree Programme objectives, scope, approach and an appropriate governance regime.
• Create and implement robust programme planning, reporting and control processes.
• Integrate work-streams and manage cross-business interdependencies to ensure co-ordinated delivery.
• Identify financial and operating risks and issues affecting the programme and the business, putting appropriate measures in place to effectively manage and control.
• Manage interfaces with external stakeholders (business partners, regulators etc) in order to ensure full integration of solutions.
• Responsible for chairing governance boards and championing governance processes.

Who we are looking for:

• An experienced and seasoned Programme Manager with a background in highly complex programmes of work.
• Previous experience of running major people transformation initiatives including TUPE transfer.
• Previous experience in Life and Pensions, Insurance or Financial Services industries would be highly beneficial.
• Offshore development experience.
• Experience of working with third party suppliers and Systems Integrators.
