MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious Manufacturing client, based in Durham, by recruiting a permanent Senior Production Engineer, to join their organisation. A successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Production Engineering team, follow up on tasks closure, assuring the team successfully meets its objectives and the team’s KPIs.

The Job You’ll Do;

  • Lead the Production Engineering team, follow up on tasks closure, assuring the team successfully meets its objectives and the team’s KPIs.
  • Responsible for effective change management process and successful ECOs implementation.
  • Assume responsibility on all Manufacturing aspects in company PLC Process starting from earlier product development phase, through prototype build, release for production until end of life including:
  • BOM Structures definition and maintenance based on manufacturing steps, customer options and customizations.
  • Define production documentation required for build, test, integration, and product calibration.
  • Initiate, Develop, implement, and maintain production procedures, workflow processes, tools & jigs for effective manufacturing of sub-assemblies, product integration & final tests.
  • Manage obsolescence events and support 2nd source initiatives.
  • Under your role you will be required to:
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Determine problem resolutions and implement improvements.
  • Handle technical aspects of quality issues internally and with vendors.
  • Develop and sustains process improvements and quality control systems to reduce production & BOM costs and increase yields.

About You;

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum five years as a Manufacturing/Production Engineer in diverse industries, preferably Semiconductors, medical, or automotive.
  • Experience in team leadership is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
