Hays has partnered with a leading media organisation based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, to recruit a brand new Senior Product Manager. Joining the expanding Digital Product Team, this role covers all digital assets (40 websites and 20 apps) and all aspects of digital Product Management (platforms, data, advertising, SEO, UX, CMS, CMP, eCommerce etc.).

Your new role
As the Senior Product Manager, your role will encompass managing the product lifecycle from concept to execution and analysis. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with stakeholders at all levels to capture and interpret business needs and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Creating comprehensive user stories and maintaining a product roadmap to guide the Agile development process.
  • Actively participating in Agile and Scrum ceremonies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing: Ensure that all developments meet the highest standards of quality and are in line with acceptance criteria.
  • Product Release and Lifecycle Management: Oversee product releases, monitor performance, and make data-driven decisions for product iterations.
  • Developing strategies to enhance commerce content, focusing on user experience, conversion optimisation, and user experience.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to optimise ad density and exploring innovative ad formats and technologies.
  • SEO Strategy and Execution: Lead technical SEO initiatives to boost organic traffic and improve site visibility.
  • Keeping abreast of market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Maintaining clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, including regular updates and reports on product performance and initiatives.
  • Working closely with design, engineering, marketing, operations, commercial and sales teams to ensure product alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Mentoring and Team Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.



What you'll need to succeed
The company is looking for a visionary leader with a passion for digital products and a track record of delivering successful online platforms. You will need to have a blend of technical knowledge, strategic insight, and team leadership to drive their digital products to new heights. You will also need:

  • Extensive Digital Product Management Expertise: Proven experience in managing online platforms, with a strong understanding of development life cycle.
  • Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS), Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Jira. Exposure to GDPR Content Management Platforms and A/B testing tools is desirable.
  • The ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
