I am supporting a well established organisation near Bedford recruit for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer.

Job Title: Senior Payroll Officer

Duration: 6-12 months contract with potential for extension

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

Potential hybrid opportunity when comfortable with the role. 

Payrate: £18.99 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the preparation and processing of the company's payroll.

- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions.

- Liaise with HR and finance departments to align payroll processing with company policies and regulations.

- Handle payroll queries and provide assistance to employees regarding salary and tax issues.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory requirements.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in payroll or taxation roles.

- Professional certification in payroll or taxation (CIPP, AAT, or equivalent) is highly desirable.

- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills.

- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.

The Senior Payroll Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the payroll function within the organization, providing expertise and contributing to the efficient handling of employee compensation.
